I posted the picture of my 1967 Massey Ferguson Industrial 50 (alternate to AG version MF-165) with MF loader and brand X backhoe (CASE backhoe from a 420B).When I bought it last year at an auction, I didn't know what model it was except it was a very heavy and robust Massey Ferguson. My knowledge of Massey Ferguson was very vacuous, but I received a lot of help from Big Dean, Jack in NB, and many others. A BIG "THANK YOU" TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED TO MY REQUESTS FOR HELP. I fabricated the loader bucket from plate stock. I designed it in AutoCAD, and then torched out the plates per the dimensions. The backhoe was from a CASE 420B. I liked the backhoe, but the CASE tractor was a bit whimpy where I needed to navigate in a marshy area around some springs near the bottom of a hill. The MF navigates so much better with the differential lock, powerful powersteering, and the monster rear tires (18.4" X 26") and wheels from a combine. The Perkins AD4-203 was shot when I bought it. All the compression rings were broken from starting it with ether. Someone had been in the shuttle shift and it had some parts missing along with a snap ring that was left in bottom of the transmission. It had a Chevy truck 12" clutch and a lot of other items were "cluged" on the tractor. When I first got it running and did a test run, the transmission locked up. After taking it apart, I found the snap ring pieces in the bottom that someone had left in it. I installed a rockshaft (3 point hitch) from a CASE tractor and operated it from the front pump. When the backhoe is removed, I can use it as a loader tractor with a 3 point hitch and PTO. The backhoe can be removed in about 30 minutes and installed in about 45 minutes. I can't afford a dedicated backhoe, so I incorporated the 3 point hitch and PTO to use the balance of the time. Anyways, thanks to all who helped me get it back together. Ken McWilliams Dayton, OH
