Am new owner of a sweet MF35 diesel (1961), I want to know if there is a front end loader made for this model. Will I have to add external hydraulics/pump etc? How much should I expect to pay for used loader if available? Thanks in advance! Orlando

Orlando, Kelly offers a new loader for your tractor, I will get the model and specs Wed. when I return to work and get back to ya. It will cost more than the Paulson, but be a heavier unit capable of a little more lift capacity, and will have a hydraulic bucket. The thing to remember on these tractors is that the front ends are basically the same as N series Fords, and TO series Fergies, by the time you ad 700-800# of loader, 800# of lift capacity may be all it wants.
This is the reason the Industrial tractors had heavier front ends and power steering...AND front mounted hyd. pumps. MF has never been a front runner in on board hydraulics on their ag models, although you can make a loader work off your tractors hydraulics, a pto pump will work it better and faster. A used loader in complete operating condition should run you $600-$800 for an older farm loader with a trip bucket, more for a newer on, and a pto pum will hit ya about $500-$600. We have a complete older loader (not sure what brand) with hydraulic bucket mounted on a Massey Harris 50 which we would sell for about that price without the new PTO pump. Pete

I have the same tractor and recently made an inquiry in this forum. You may want to look back in the archive. I assume you do not have power steering and if so you may be asking for trouble in terms of unreasonable steering reisistance. The cost/trouble of adding power steering rules that out. You would be better off getting a new tractor God forbid. I am considering a Paulson "lightweight loader" which was designed for the older Fords 8N/9N. I spoke with the factory and was advised that it would work on my 35. It weighs less than 500 lbs and uses the tractor's hydraulics, no additional pump needed. Drawbacks are 800 lb lifting capacity and single action lifting, i.e. it lifts up and floats down. Also a mechanical bucket trip. But, it can lift a lot more than I can and it costs less than $ 1,500.00. I love my tractor and you made a great choice. If you do get a "light weight' please advise. Thanks
