I purchased a tractor that has been repainted and decalled as a mh 102, the oval plate is gone from the frame but i found the ser # 382620 by the clutch pedal, some people tell me that it might be a MH 101, on the engine a four cylinder there is a oval plate that has date 42854 number 342 on it, and a rectangular plate that has MFA162G30885 on it. The tractor has a tin grill and it is a 6 volt. If anyone can please tell me the model and year of my tractor you would make my Christmas wish come true!!

If the tractor has a 4 cylinder, it is a Junior model. The Juniors were built on the same chassis as the Seniors which had 6 cylinder flatheads. If it has the serial number 382620, it then depends on whether it is a row crop version (narrow front) or a standard tread (wide front) model. If yours is a row crop, then yours would be a 1940 model. If it is a standard tread then it is a 1945 model. Looking at the engine serial number, the 162 part shows it to be of 162 cubic inches in which case I'd bet you have a wide front (standard) tractor since the 162 version came out on the later models. Earlier ones had the 124 and 140 version of the same engine, just smaller cylinder bores. It couldn't be a 102 Junior because both row crop and standard 102 Juniors started in 1939 with the serial numbers starting with "38", like 385001 for the Standards and 387001 for the row crops. I've got some information on these if you wish to email me at the above link.
