Does anyone know anything about the history of the Ferguson Pony? I would like to know how many were made and any other general information about this tractor.

I have two ponys a 1950 and a54 gray the gray has a differant trans.no and has a strait gear shift lever, and the front axel has more height to it, I believe they are the same as the pacer. My gray also came with a voltage regulator. I have the correct paint no. for the gray if anyone is interested. I have also seen a 57 with the pacer brakes on it from the factory.

I have two Massey-Harris-Ferguson Ponys. One is gray and the other has gray paint under the red paint.
The PTO appears to have red paint under the red paint on the gray Pony. I also have a couple of gray implements.

It's kind of one of life's little mysteries. I don't think anyone knows for certain which ones were Fergy and which ones weren't but the Massey Data Book says the 1954 Gray Pony serial #'s were 23,149 - 23,853 and in 1955 ? - 24,090. Don't know if this is an educated guess or if they kept some records. Also, I know of a few that were gray ponies to start with and were re-called, re-painted red, re-labled M-H, and re-shipped to a M-H dealer when they ran out.

Hope this helps - ALAN
