We have a MF 165 with multi-power. When we run it out of fuel, by mistake of course, "bad fuel gauge" , we back up our MF 35 back to the 165 connect the 2 PTO with a shaft, jack one wheel of the 35, put it in ground PTO, engage the regular PTO on the 165, on the 35 we apply the brake on the wheel that is on the ground and put it in reverse. It gets the 165 going in less time then recharching the battery and overheating the starter.

Sorry, it won't work. I don't know the exact technical details, but with no hyd. pressure the MP clutch is in low and freewheeling.

Thanks, thats what I thought, loaned it to my brother and he ran it out of diesel and ran the battery down trying to get it restarted without bleeding the lines.

Did you try to bleed the fuel system yourself? I would bleed the system, then charge up the battery and start it up. If the system is bled good, it shouldn't take much for the tractor to start.

Can't bleed the system without the motor turning over, the starter is fried, just wanted to move it into the shed so I can work on it, guess I'll just tow it in.

Johnny, you can bleed the system with the manual pump it is on the right side has a small lever that you pump, but it does take two people, one to pump the other to crack and tighten the lines.
