I have just bought a MH 744. The steering on the tractor seems to be extremely heavy. The nut that holds the pitman arm on the steering box is missing and the arm is secured by a block of wood, I don't know if this is acting as a brake. Have no yet got the tractor home to have a good look. Other than this is the steering normally heavy and can anything be done to improve the steering?

Thanks in anticipation,
Damon.

We have a M-H 744 diesel tractor and yes, the steering is heavy on them, but the tractor we have, the steering is even heavier, because of the dozer blade fitted to the front.
