How do I connect chains to set the desired depth/height of the bushhog or for that matter any other attachment? What do I connect them to on the tractor and on the bushhog?

Try the unoffical 9-2-8N site, there is a cad drawing in the archives. Ask for it on the board if you can not find it.It's a snap to made then.

On the rear differential housing below the upper three point hitch of my 135 there are three ears cast. Put a long 3/4" pin through them and hook the upper end of the chains to that pin. CT makes a pair of chains and hooks for the purpose. Then hook the other end of the chains to the lower lift pins on the bush hog.

It's easy. Use the CT chains. Attach the enclosed metal plates to either side of toplink pin under the seat (keep top link in place)and attach the chains and corresponding ends to the 2 lower pins on the attachment. Lift the attachment with the hydraulics like you normally do and pull the chains through the top brackets to take up the slack. The depth is now fixed but the "hog" can ride up or be hydraulically lifted when necessary. Be sure to keep your top link in place as it will prevent the mower from accidently landing on top of you.
