Has anyone found a source for oversize pistons for a 55gas? Or original sleeves and pistons would be fine.
My sleeves are quite pitted so I cannot use them. However they are plenty thick to take an overbore if I can find something to use!

thanks

International used the JD-382 and JD-260 with an increased bore in some of their crawlers. They added a manchester counter-balance shaft, 4 5/8 bore and ran the engine at 2600 rpm. I happen to have both the 55D and 55G and the 44D and the 44G. If there is anything that I can help you with let me know.

Continental Motors Corp. of Muskegon MI built the J-382 engine in the 55. They also manufactured the J-403 engine which is the same except for a 4 5/8 in. bore size. 382's are 41/2 in. The 403's were probably a transportation engine however I would have no doubt some of the sleeve/piston set may have been used in the parts pipeline for the Massey's, don't know for sure. Try looking for the 403 sets by asking old truck restorers about any old engine parts suppliers they may have. Also I read a story once about a guy who sand blasted then glass beaded his pitted sleeves and filled the pits with, thats right, J-B Weld and sanded them and filled and sanded then honed the sleeves (a W-6 International)to get a cross hatch and run them. No smoke! ran good, he pulled it in antique pulls. Necessity is the mother!!

Thank you for the reply. I have been unable to find a source for the J-403 pistons. If anyone knows of a source I would be pleased to know of it.

thanks
