My MF 35 diesel has a glow plug which is operated
by turning the ignition key counter-clockwise.
What amount of time is needed to allow the glow
plug to do an ample job of warming up the diesel?
Thanks for any response.
Steve

My first tractor (just acquired)is a MF 35. After about 25-sex there is often an soft, audible pop, which I am told is the glow plug doing its job. It usually starts readily after that. Being new to diesels, it was news to me that the fuel mist would cool the engine down quickly, so if it didn't start quickly to reheat the glowplugs for a few seconds. The next question is...with a water hose-heater unit installed, how much quicker will they start? I have yet to get such a unit, but it sounds like a good idea.
