Went to an auction today and bid on a running 1936 Pacemaker. The paint was pretty much gone but the metal looked good, not pitted at all. I did notice that something was leaking out of the front area of the motor after it was started and before it was shut off but not while it was moving. Didn't smell gas so it must've been water or oil. I don't know. I still bid up to eleven hundred on it. One nice thing to see as the bidding went up to sixteen hundred was my wife on the other side of the crowd nodding yes to me right up to the end. Afterwards she said, "You could've had it if you wanted it." I said not to worry there'd be others.

I've got a 1938 Pacemaker and it's a good bit of gear. Goes second or third crank every time and it doesn't matter how long it's been sitting there! Keep looking and one will turn up!
