I just got a 33 that needs the steering worm and sector replaced. Can anyone tell me if the same parts from a 44 will work? Or a 333? Is there a "sister model" to the 33? I'm new at this, so I have lots of questions. This board seems like a great place to find expert help.

They are all the same. As a matter of fact we have a wide front from a 33 on a 44 right now. I believe that even the worm gears and the top of the housing are the same between a wide front and a narrow front.

Actually only some of the wide front worms & gears are interchangeable with the narrow front. It all depends if the tie rods attach behind the gearbox or in front of it. This is something to keep in mind if you ever plan on switching front ends. If you get the wrong gears your steering will be opposite ( turn the wheel left & wheels go right! ).

Hey, that's the kind of steering set up I need when my wife drives the tractor. Steer left and turn right, everything should work out perfect. Now that would take some thinking if a guy had a tractor that did that.

You know when people talk about learning from experience? How do you think I found out about this the first time? My dad & I swapped a narrow front for a wide ( just happened to be a 33 ) about 10 years ago and "presto" we had reversed the steering on the tractor. Although, for some people this setup would work good for backing up trailers ( no wifes names mentioned, especially mine! ).
