Too high oil pressure?

A friend of mine has a MF 35X tractor. The oil pressure gauge is showing the maximum pressure when the engine is running, even at the idle speed (the pressure is indicated by colour: green is normal and red is either low or high). What could cause this? Is it harmful to the engine? I've been told that a high oil pressure is a sign of a good engine but I assume that this is too high.

I had the same problem on my 35 and it was the gauge that was broken, after I had changed it I had normal readings on the gauge.

First things first. Check out that Gauge. If possible put on a manual one with numbered pressure marks on it to see how much psi you really have.
