Greetings all, I'm new the the tractor world and just recently bought a MF35 Deluxe(?) that needs some TLC. Like many others in the forum, I am trying to pin down the serial number, when and where made. Of course the ID tag on the left side by the start button is missing (have 4 screw holes and outline of what was there). Engine Tag is also gone. Stamped (not casted) on Top left side (from back) ear of bell housing under seat is a number that looks like a serial number. Here is what I know:

ear stamp is #: 183262 under this is CO612
engine: casting number: Z134A500P 4 banger gas
clutch: 2 step with live PTO, 3 pt hitch
trans: 3 fwd, 1 rev w/ Hi/lo shifter (8 speeds)
Hood: MF 35 Deluxe stickers - but of course it has been poorly repainted at some point and re-stickered.

Other parts have part number stamps but not like another MF I saw (I think is was a TO). This one had CWC on E. Block and MF on transmission casting and other locations. but not mine.

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks,
kurt

I'm not sure if this helps or not but this is what I got.....My id plate is located to the left of the steering wheel also eng. plate is lower front. Your casting # is the same as my TO35 1957. I belive the Z on the eng. blk. indicates it is a Continental 32,8 hp- 4 cyl gas. Im thinking you may have a 1958. I found a very helpful site that provides alot of info. It gave me some specifics on fluild levels, timing, year, etc,etc... It is www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Downs/9828. Hey I hope it helps and good luck w/your tractor. They are strong and dependable.
