I've recently found a Ferguson Pony tractor that the owner is considering selling. It is not in bad shape with a rebuilt engine and new tires. All sheet metal is there and is straight and the tractor has hydrualics, but the lines are not connected to the cylinder. Someone has tried to paint the tractor and the paint is coming off. It will have to be cleaned up and painted but will not need much mechanical repair. What is it worth?

Ron I wouldn't even take a guess at the value of one of those. Its got to be worth alot more than a regular Pony. I have only seen one of those tractors and I go to alot of shows. The one I saw even had the original tires on it that reads Harris- Ferguson wright on the tire. Those owner's are greatfull to have those very rare tires.

Is the Ferguson Pony different than a Masey-Harris-Ferguson Pony? I have a couple of the M-H-F Ponys of which one is gray and I can't tell but the other looks like it was gray but went through a brush fire.

The Ferguson ponies were all 54 & 55. You should check your s/n tag and cross to year. Dad has one that someone repainted red. You can tell it's the wrong red and there is grey anywhere the red peeled off. They are rare but I've seen several this last year. As for price, it is a sellers market but price depends on where you live and how badly he wants to sell. You might check the values section of this web site to see if any have been posted.

The serial number list I have shows they were made in 1954 and doesn't show any reference to 1955. I have seen several references to the production in 1955 but have never seen where the 54-55 s/n break is. What was the first s/n in 1955?
