The rear rims on my 44 Special are rotted. The
cast disc centers fine, but finding steel rims
to replace mine are difficult. That wide centered
shoulder makes for a 34" opening about 2 3/4" W.
I want 14"x38" steel rims for 15.5-38 tires. I heard that there is an aftermarket maker for these rims, under two hundred each. Please advise
me where I can purchase correct size rims at a
reasonable price. I ask, where? Thank you.

Worse comes to worse, you can order a jobber rim to fit to basic size and weld in your own supports. That's what I was prepared to do with my 30 regular before I was able to find a pair in decent shape. The calcium is what creates the scarcity I think. I don't know how yours are made but mine as a "V" pinch shoulder for the bolts to crimp down on, and the jobber has "omega" type attachments similar to ford bolt attachments. I would have cut the attachments off with
a cutoff disk and simply welded to the rim an angle iron in circular shape. This is not a real
big job as things goes but it's critical that you
make good welds for obvious reasons.

One of the YT supporters is Miller Tire Co. They list new rims and tires of sizes to fit most old tractors. Look to the parts suppliers listed here.
