Fuel filters stopped up on 1100. Replaced filters, bled system, now I can't get any fuel any farther up than the bleeder on the governor housing. Plenty up to there, nothing to the injector lines. Thanks in advance for any ideas, Karl.

Karl, I have an 1100 and have had to bleed the system several times (maybe I'll learn to quit running out of fuel or fix the gauge). I'm not sure whate the CAV part is, however on mine there are two bleed ports on the injection pump and you need to bleed the lower one on the outboard first then the higher one on the rear side. Then you may need to back one injector line off and turn the engine over until you see fuel leaking from it while turning the engine over. Hope this helps.

To bleed injectors, you will need to have fuel shut off/on in the run position. There is a vane type fuel pump built into some CAV fuel systems. You will have to turn the engine as if you were starting the engine so the vane pump can force fuel thru the fuel injection system. Be careful because these lines will have fuel with very high pressure. Some injection systems have a hydraulic type governor that will only work when there is engine oil pressure. In those systems, you have to have engine oil pressure to bleed the fuel system. Check to see if the fuel shut off/on linkage is working correctly. The linkage can bind, become disconnected, and not turn the fuel on. This will cause problems, the first place to look when no fuel at the injectors. Good Luck!!

Don't know for sure about the later models but the MF135 has a small conical mesh filter above the fuel tap on the fuel tank. The glass bowl/ fuel pump has a mesh filter above the glass bowl. It is hard to see but these filters occur prior to the CAV cartridge filters.
