not doing anything out of the ordinary, started late morning dragging a "root-rake" around my 2.5 acres and stopped to re-fuel,re-started fine and got about 30 minutes into it and backed up about 10 feet , placed tractor in L2 gear and got about 10 feet foward and it just died,no unusual sounds or anything,The pre-igniter on the dash glows when the button is pushed and held but no desiel start. Where do I start looking for problems?

Since you just refueled, I would suspect water in the fuel! Just for info, when was the last time you changed the fuel filter? I would go ahead and put a new filter on at this time, prime the system and see if it will restart!

Good luck!

approx. 5 days earlier it was ran out of fuel, filled, primed, and started, running since then and this was the second tank of fuel since that has happened.I can safely say no water in tank or fuel because 1)brand new 5 gallon can was purchased just for this, and 2) the 3 gallon can has been filled and checked numerous times for water. It's not even making an effort to start, just turns over no fire,if it were gas i would say it was electrical/no spark but it's no so,I've also bled the (injector pump?)and fittings and have no fuel being pumped into the injector lines to each cylinder while it's being cranked, should I? anyway , Thanks for the reply.

Yes the lines should have fuel if the tank and lines are not stopped up or the fuel pump is busted!

I would think you would check for good fuel flow from the tank to the filters! Then from the filters to the fuel pump. If you get fuel to the pump open a vent plug to see when you turn the engine if fuel is spewing out. If your getting fuel to the pump and it is pumping then you must have air in the system and you need to bleed again!

I have opened every nipple and fuel line from the tank to the pump to the filter and to the injector pump and bled all air from the lines, all of them have had some amount of pressure on them except for the 4 individual lines that go to each cylinder have no pressure/fuel coming out of the injector pump, all other fittings on the injector pump have fuel/pressure on them. Water is not being ruled out though being that the tractor has been outside for a few days and being in Florida with the heat and condensation build up and it is also the rainy season. Thanks for all the help...

Check for fuel flow, in the 2 CAV cartridge filters, the fuel bowl and pump, the gauze filter above that small bowl - had trouble before with this and the fuel tap has a small conical filter at the tank.
