went to look at an MH 81 last nite and was curious how rare or popular these tractors are. I'm sure it can be had for scrap price but unsure what value it may have. I't may only be a parts tractor. any info would be helpful.

Dear Alan : I have two standard 1945 Models . They were fairly popular here in Ontario . Often they were a farmer's first Tractor after using Horses . They were used by the Royal Canadian Air Force to tow Planes during WWII .
George.

9,174... That's how many they made. I love mine.
Dad and I restored it together and it may not be
perfect, but it means a lot to me. They didn't
seem to be exceptionally rare around here
(Cochranton PA) but like any other model, they are
getting rarer. This model was the first of the
smaller styled and gave birth to the 20,21 colt,
22, & 23 mustang. Good worker and well built. DO
NOT snowplow with it or bounce the front a lot...
the area next to the tranny where it all bolts
together was famous for cracks and breaks... might
want to look it over while you have the tractor
apart. The later models had extra bracing there. I've a picture of mine working at plow day posted
in the photos. Good luck and post a pix when you
get her ready - ALAN

P.S. If you need info I have a full manual and a
little experience. More than welcome to either.
