I have a 1976 MF 255 diesel row crop or high clearance tractor without remote hydraulics. I would like to add a ROPS with canopy! Can anyone tell me how to detemine if I locate a used unit, on either a 255, 265, 275 or 285, if they will fit without any major adjustments?

Thanks

There was an outfit in Alberta Can. (a Tafe distributor) manufacturing roll bars for the 35/135. Had a quote in 98 about $500 Cdn - US $375 or so.

Alta Ventures, Slave Lake AB. 403 849-4118. Might do a phone search to see if it's still a valid number.

I looked into ROPS pricing and was really shocked at such high prices for so simple a structure. My weld shop (top line business that designs and makes both certified ROPS and trailers and other high end fabrication items) said he could make me a "canopy suspension device" for about 1/2 the price of a certified ROPS. The state regulations and certification is what costs so much.

If you're not going to be fulfilling any state contracts and are only interested in saving your keester... the "un-certified" structure can be just as strong and much cheaper.
