Mf 135 hydraulic problem

My mf 135 has a front loader and runs from the pressure port located under the seat. The pump has plenty of power for the loader and 3pt hitch. The problem is that the 3pt hitch won't stay in transport position with implement attached when using loader. In order for 3pt hitch to raise you must turn the valve off on the pressure line to loader. Without implement on 3pt hitch the 3pt hitch arms will stay up. The tractor has had this problem since I have had it. What is possibly broke or hooked up wrong? Or how can I make it work. It is really a problem when trying to use the loader with an implement attatched. Any help would be greatly appreciated....Thanks Craig Whyte

Craig, I don't have any info on the 3 pt hitch issue however I am thinking of buying a 135 and adding a loader. I was told by the dealer that the hydraulics on the 135 were too slow for a loader and was wondering what your experience was. I was also wondering how well the tractor worked as a loader. Any comment would be apriciated.
Thanks Paul

Hello Craig -

There is nothing wrong with the system or your operating procedure.

This is a weakness in the MF design - one of the few, I would add.

You have the option of either loader or three point, not both. And the lift arms start to settle as soon as you divert oil flow to the loader.

A patch is to attach chains to keep the three point load from settling too low; another work-around is a two-spool switch valve on top of the transmission. The left spool can be activated intermittently to raise your three point arms. Pain in the butt, though.

Good luck.

This isn't related to Craig's question, but you fellows have a lot of knowledge about MF135 hydraulics and I could use some advice. I want to add a double acting hydraulic cylinder to convert the "drop" bucket on my MF135 loader. The loader's 2 single acting cylinders are connected to the pressure port under the seat and are raised by the tractor's hydraulic controls. I see that the pressure port has an outlet that is capped which I suspect would be the return port when the tractor is in "constant pumping" mode which would allow me to add this cylinder. Before I go off and start this project, can someone confirm this?
