Recently purchased 1080 which has a single element air filter held in place by an external bracket with a screw down tightener rather than a centrallly positioned threaded rod with a wing nut. Two dealers tell me that this particular filter has been discontinued and can offer no help with a replacement. The inner/outer filter type offered by the dealers is too big for the canister. The filter I'm trying to replace is approximately 4x14 in size. There is no readable serial number on it. Oddly, printed on the filter is information regarding an inner/outer filter but that is not what it is. The dealers unfortunately cannot help. Surely there is a replacement filter available somewhere. Can any of you help? Thanks.

I just went to the WIX filter web site and found several air filter elements for your 1080. If you don't feel comfortable ordering off the web your local NAPA dealer can order the filter you need. I find it hard to believe that your local Massey dealer can't get you a filter but nothing really surprises me anymore. Good luck with your 1080 they are good tractors but heavy 3pt loads kill the final drives. Later Merle

Sounds like a dilemma. Want an entire 1080 parts
tractor w/bad engine? Just saw one on the net for
$1500./B.O. in N.C. owner:Wade Gwynn 910-455-5725.
GoodLuck! Michael
