Hello everybody ! I,m back again with another question that i probably should know , but don,t ! My massey 175 diesel (65 horse late 1960,s model )the 3 pt. hitch will not stay in the up position when i shut the motor down , regardless of where I have the levers set ! It comes with the deluxe model 3 pt. hitch that has all these fancy settings that I,m not even sure how to operate ! Could it be that I am not setting the levers in the proper position ? When the tractor is running my baby is as strong as a bull, and will not slip down with even a large weight on it ! ..... .... Any input is always appreciated ! Thanks, Terry

I recently purchased a M-F 175. Runs great, But having a problem with the hydraulics staying up @ idle. The Engine has to be @ 1200- 1500 RPM's to get it to pick up a 6' boxscrape. This is with it in constant pumping. What is going on Pump, Valves, or Cylinder problems? this is a non multi-power system, Is there ports to take pressure readings. Thank You for any information.
Bill

Hi Terry -

Your system is working normally for MF.

We have a dozen of older units, and none of the arms stay up when shut off.

The lift ram piston is designed with rings, like an engine piston, and the oil leaks by slowly, allowing settling once oil flow stops.

Works great, lasts well, a minor safety hazard when the load raises on start-up if you've left the control in the up position.

Hope this helps.

There may be a problem with you hyd. lift cylinder leaking internaly or the pump is leaking off when you shut off the motor.
