Help!

I used my tractor this morning with low fuel in the tank. After stoping the tractor for few minutes, I tried to start it again an it did for about 3 seconds, then stopped. Battery is good. In the tank, there seem to have no fuel. After adding 5 gallons of fuel, tractor still does not start. What can it be?

Also, I noticed that lots of mustard flowers came on the radiator while I was harrowing this green manure this morning. Can it be the cause?

If your tank appeared dry, you may have run it out of fuel! If its a DIESEL, you won't do that twice. If you feel that it did run out of fuel, you'll have to bleed the system! That will take time and if you've never had to do it you will need a manual or the help of someone that knows tractors or the MF165. I have a MF 255 and I know how to bleed it.

That reminds me have you changed fuel filters and had to bleed the system? If you've done that to change filters that's what you'll have to do to crank it if you've run out of fuel!

I need help. I treated my 1961 MF135 Diesel (Perkins) to a 2 fuel filter change. I bled it right, primary, second, and bled 2 on the injector. It ran for 5 seconds and quit. Air! I took two of the three injector fittings and loosened them off. Gas came through when I turned it over. It shoulda worked. I re-bled it and still nothing.I talked with my neighbour about bleeding systems and he had to get an old guy in to help. Everyone has trouble with this.I'm becoming an old guy and don't know who to ask. Any thoughts?
