I have a MF35 super with Multipower ser.no 333676 from 1963.
I have problems with the PTO. When the tractor is drawing a machine and the transmission shaft is bended more than 30 degree I hear a very hard noise.
I sound like it comes from the transmission but I am not sure.
I have just replaced the PTO clutch, but did not found any failure there exept for some wear down.
The noise sounds like a hammar so a bearing must be bad. Anybody who had similar problems, where is the bearings located and how do I reach it?
When I had the tractor pulled apart I could not provoke the problem by turning the transmission by hand.

Davs, Ulrik.....

Here goes, in another language
The PTO, when bent, moves in a jumpy way, the more you bend, the more it jumps. This is normal for standard u-joints, and the noise might originate from this. If you wish to operate under heavy load with more than a slight bend, you should use PTO shafts with homokinetic joints in stead of std. u-joints. - just like the driveshafts on a front wheel driven car.

You hear this more when you turn to the left? Every massy I have been on does this. Nothing is broke it is just the way it is maade. Hear is what I think cause this. The shaft turning the PTO goes threw the HYD pump, the rotion of the pump goes one way and your getting back lash from the PTO, this causes the pump to jump on it pins. No expert just had several and still do, one for over 15 years and it has always made this noise
