I'm looking for some information on this oddball model. Can anyone tell me when it was in production - is it a new or old model? Any idea where I can get parts for this? Is it very similar to a 260? Thanks!

Yes I know lots about it what would you like to know it is now a old model. It has not been made for about 6 years now. But it was made for while I own one so i know a pretty lot about it.

My uncle owns one he bought new in about 1985. It was rated at 58 HP, but the dealer's dyno showed it to put out 60 hp. He is actually having fuel/air problems with it right now and not sure how to fix it. He has tried everything he knows of. It stalls out after a few miutes and runs too lean - air getting in somewhere?

There is additional info available at "tractortips.com". Look under Tractor specs, tips and forum.

As far as I can tell the MF261 was an early 1990's model with 236 perk engine.
