I am in the process of buying a pony 1948. The engine has a rap under load. Any info on engine rebuild kits and past experience on these would be appreciated. Thank You Tom

Tom:
I purchased parts needed individually
as you need to have the cylinders, crank and etc. checked for wear and
decide on the sizes needed. Here are prices I paid in the fall of 2000. The
part numbers may help too.

#5037 X 30 Federal Mogul Ring set .030 $54.53
#1660 CP 10 F.M. Rod bearings .010 4@ $13.31ea.
#804 M 10 F.M. Main Brgs. $57.42 for the set
#VS-402 Seal Power Valve springs 8 @ $2.22 ea.
#FS1850 Victor gasket set $52.85
#284P .030 "Ohio" Pistons P1906-030 Set=$125.36
#VG461 Valve guides 8 for $25.68
#SB1000-1 Valve seats @ $6.35 ea.
#1664V Rod pin end bushings 4 for $13.76
#AT25491 (fits my Pony)John Deere carb. float valve $20.70
Crank grinding $75.00
Bore cylinders .030 $44.00 total
Align rods & fit pin bushings $34.00
Grind valves, seats & install seats & guides $132.00
Degrease block $45.80

Mine really runs great now. Good luck, Ken
