I have just become the owner of an old MF50 Ind. Backhoe and Loader. I am going to restore the old girl to her original condition. (I hope) Its powered by a AD4.203 perkins motor with Engine No.2973320. It has a couple of tags pop riveted on the dash. (1) B/B Plant No. 9100-001 (2) Tag with bossed out numerials 765 (I think) and (3)Has a brass tag with a serial number stamped in but unfortunately having trouble reading this one. I would appreciate any help in establishing the year she was born and the company name of the attachments, or where to find any other numbers which would help to establish her true identity.
Regards
Bods.

Geoff, I bought a 68 MF 40 Backhoe Loader a month ago. I am just finishing the engine work. I tracked down the year on "Big Dean's" web page. He has a lot of info on the industrials. He is at hometown.aol under masseymechanic. I had to replace the sleeves, pistons and valves because of rust. I hope to have it running tomorrow. Good Luck!
