My '61 MF35 needed a coat of paint, but I wanted something different than flint gray for the frame. That something different is metallic dark gray. WOW, it's a whole new tractor! I know there are some purists' out there shaking their heads - it'll be alright. As soon as I get her back together, and get some pictures, I'll try to post a shot or two.

Happy and safe tractoring

Terry

Hi Chris

I hear ya. The paint preparation work is hard, dirty, nasty, and definitely not fun. It probably took the better part of a month getting the old paint/rust/grease/grim and dirt off. What a task! It sure it true that painting is 95% prep work and 5% painting. Enjoy your tractor.

Terry, I am nearing the end of a rebuild on a 63 MF 35 Diesel. The previous owner had done the same as you, would have been great if he had removed the grease/rust before painting. I used Massey Ferguson flint metallic grey and Massey Ferguson red with Massey Ferguson bright silver for the rear rims. Turned out great!
