Check out the Western Ontario Farmer for Carl Jenkins' sale on Friday June 10 north of Shelburne. Totally original Standard 444 with 5100 original hours, never repainted and absolutely perfect tin. If you want a potentially perfect show tractor, this is it. It was the last M-H tractor sold in Ontario in 1958 (or so the story goes).

Interesting post below although the only thing I'd agree upon is that those big huge Massey fenders were a bit gross - however, I'm sure there were lots of guys who liked them (and all the other things about the Masseys). One thing I am wondering about is how the actual operating hours are known. Did the 444 series have an hour meter or did someone add one on? My son has a late 333 and that tractor was a long ways from having a factory hour meter on it. How much do you think this 444 will go for? See ya.

A 333 was "a long way from having an hour meter"? I've seen many 44s from the early 50's with factory hour meters. One of the local 44s had 13,000 hours with minimal work ever done to it. This is just my view of course.

Was Alberta Mike's son the owner of a standard
333? All 333's came with tach/hour meters on the
console. Early Diesel 44's had an hour meter above
the starting gear. Perhaps that 333 in standard configuration ,lacked a console for installing
stock model items like a tach/hour meter. Check
a Row Crop or Hi-arch 333/444. They had them, it
was not a frivilous option on a classic tractor.

I stand corrected. Interesting, I've never seen one on either the 333 or 444 or a 44 for that matter, even at shows, but then again maybe I just didn't notice. I'll make sure to look next time I come across one.

Tom; Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and if you feel a 444 Standard is perfect, so be it. I
believe the "Perfect 444" in the high arch model,
a brute to compete against. Those stodgy standards
always left you eating dust, spinning 30" tires,
fixed front axle, lacking 'hitch-all',limited
hydraulics-live power-disc brakes, narrow gauge
axles, but always big ugly fenders. It would be a
better world for 333/444's, if only the standards
were parted out. Save those classic row crop and
high arch models. They were as good as it ever got.
I continue to look for these "perfect" models.
