When the tractor is cold the 3point lift works fine, however after a couple of hours of running, mowing, the lift is very slow coming up.Then a short time later the lift looses everything and the mower will drop till it is resting on the ground.I can shut it down and wait for it to cool down and the lift will work again.
Any suggestion? Thanks Jeff

You didn't say but lift the mower and cut the tractor off. See how quickly the mower goes to the ground. My bet is real quick. The pump is either worn or dirty. Also possibly wrong fluid. I have a MF50 & 35. The 50 is doing just as you explained. An MF repair shop said the pump would need to be rebuilt. Purchased a video to rebuild just haven't got around to it. Lots luck. Keep us posted.

Yes, The lift does drop rather quickly after the tractor is shut down. I was figuring on a rebuild but, I thought, hoping it was something simple. As far as the wrong fluid I did change the fluid about a month before this started happening. I used a generic brand off the shelf at a local parts house. It claimed that it was for tractor use amoung other things. I'm wondering if I should have used a brand name for massey, or if it was just a coincident?

My manual says to use straight, non-detergent mineral oil grade 40, no substitutes, and especially not silicone based hyd oils.

good luck,
Thyge
