What kind of Oil/Hyd Fluid and where???

I got my tractor to run tonight! It will need a rebuild, but hopefully I can get the weeds down since I got my violation this weekend as expected...

Thanks for all the help from this list. One more question. My manual (its a cheepy that came with the tractor) /and this webpage does not tell me what kind of oil/fluids, just the quantities.

I noticed that there was water in my transmission and engine oil. Not necessarily a suprise since it has sat in pieces all winter.

What type of tranny fluid do I use? The tractor came with a 5 gal jug of "tractor hydraulic and transmission" fluid. I guess since the 3 pt. lift, etc runs off this fluid it is also hydraulic fluid. Correct? Also, where do you put it in?

What about engine oil? Use 30 wt or ???

I guess the power steering and loader hydraulics takes the same old stuff as anything.

Thanks for any info. Hopefully I wont have many more questions. Some of you have gone to great lengths to help me and it is appreciated.

Newby tractor nut. Gerald

I am just about to change the hydraulic oil in my FE-35 . The filler is next to the shifters and there are two drainplugs ;one under the axle and one further forward , that my manual suggests you replace at the same time.

I had a similar question. See response from CT Oklahoma to me about transmission and hydraulic oils. I have found that modern oils are made to cover almost all applications. Here in Australia the oil is called Mobil Agri. Best of luck.
