I have just bought my MF135 D with a MF loader. At the rear, below the seat is a small dipstick. Is this oil the transmission, diff and Hydralic all in one?? Oil looks like sae30 and not like the red hydraulic fluid I am used to on other machines. What is the correct oil type please?

The 135 does not use mineral oil. You need a good quality tractor differential/hydraulic oil. I use Texaco TDH oil. Most farm, and all tractor dealers carry a suitable oil. This will be about 10-20 weight.

You need to obtain a service manual to see how to remove and clean the filter screen. NOTE be sure to replace the safety wire!

The safety wire secures the filter screen in place. It prevents the hold down bolt from unscrewing durein operation. If the filter lets go it really screws up the pump. You can remove the draft control and see the filter on top of the pump.

You really need a service manual.

I have a MF35. The dipstick is for all three. A direct quote from my manual states:
"The mineral oil used in the hydraulic system also lubricates the transmission and differential gears and bearings. Two magnetic drain plugs have to be removed when changing oil. These plugs should be thoroughly cleaned before re-placing." It also states that it is essential that only a straight S.A.E. mineral gear oil be used in the system and that you should purchase it from your MF dealer, however, my lubricant section lists 8 U. S. gallons of S.A.E. 90.
