I'm buying a MF 65 Diesel, I own a 1951 TO-20 that I restored from the ground up. Love that little gray tractor and use it all the time. I thought this 65 would be a better tractor because of the full time PTO, and it has a loader, a MF 99. Does anyone know much about this tractor...Pros and Cons? The hood is pretty well shot and it has a streering problem. The piviot point is broken off. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me something about this tractor, Thank you all...

The first MF 65, the mark 1 was built at Coventry, England in December, 1957, and was equipped with the Perkins A4-192 diesel engine which developed 55.50hp. The Mk1 was basically the 35 transmission which was given epicyclic reduction hubs. Front axle and front end were derived from the Ferguson 40/Massey Harris 50. To save on cost the press tooling for the Ferguson 40 tinwork were shipped from the States to the U.K.
Mark 1 tractors were finished in flint grey (not Stoneleigh grey as is popularly believed) and MF super red. The Mark 2 version was introduced in November 1960, equipped with the Perkins A4-203 diesel engine, from tractor number 531453. The multipower version was introduced in Aug 1962. I am currently in the process of doing a full rebuild on a 65 Mk 1, and consider the 65 to be one of the best tractors MF ever produced. It will repay the time and money you spend on it. If you need any further info, just e-mail me Regards,
Pete.
