Can someone tell me about what the above tractors weigh (plus or minus a few hundred pounds)? I need to know if my trailer will suffice for both.

MF 35 Deluxe
Gas
FRONT END LOADER (MF, but don't know the model)

MF-30B
3 Cyl Diesel
FRONT-END LOADER (34A)
ROPS Cab
My operator's manual says the bare tractor weighs 4000 lbs and one with a cab, loader, and backhoe weighs 10240 lbs, but I don't have a backhoe. Guesses appreciated.

Thanks...

Kurt

MF 35 weight:
with diesel engine bare tractor, no cab, 3200 lbs. weight of loader with bucket maybe 500 lbs, does that sound normal.

MF 30B....

My MF 50 Industrial, cab, loader and backhoe weights 12100 lbs. Backhoe weights around 4000 lbs.
I would guess your MF 30 with loader and cab was around 6000 - 7000 lbs. maybe....

Thanks for your information on the weights. I didn't know a backhoe assembly would weight so much. I was guessing the MF 35/Loader at about 4500-5000 lbs and the MF-30B w/loader and cab at 7000-8000 lbs.

Regarding the MF 35 differential effort:
Upon removing the axle housings, I found that the bearings which hold that ring gear/differential assemble were completely gone. One of the races was even broken. After taking a look at the removed assembly, it was clear that to restore the tractor to full functionality, we needed more than just the ring and pinion gear. I was quoted upwards of $600 (used) for all the stuff we needed. Besides the fact that $600+ is a lot of money, there was several other things about the tractor that were possibly broken or bad. So, cleaned it out, replaced the bearings, and put it back together. It seems to work fine, but I know there is play between the ring and pinion gears. I'll watch it close, and if I can get everything else back to normal on the tractor, I'll spend the money for a new assembly. Thanks again for your help.

The funny part about the MF 35 is that I let the same person (family member) that was using it when it broke take it to their farm for a couple weeks. Pulling it out of a creek with a bulldozer, they have now broken something in the steering. I'll never learn.

OUCH! I've got the same thing going here. I'm in the middle of total rebuild on 1964 MF 35Utility and judging from the damage, I now know why I'm always fixing Pop's lawn mower. He is ruff on equipment and never knew what a grease gun was. The only thing he DOES do is change the oil like clockwork. At 82 years, we hope to keep him on the mower. When the 35 is running again, it might be in for repairs everytime he looks at it.

Hi folks,

Sad to hear about such things. Difficult to say no to a dad who will borrow. But strangers,,, never borrow them anything. It would be better if I bought them a tractor.... or whatever.

I am more than willing to help people, but if I have the money to buy a tool or whatever, they have the money to do the same. It is not fair that I shall buy stuff that the neighborhood shall use.
