I have a '67 MF 135 with the continental Z145 motor. I would like to replace the cork plugs in the ends of the rocker arm shaft while I am doing other work on the tractor. Are new cork plugs available? Would any cork plug work? Or should I use something else or not worry about it at all?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I recently replaced mine, a small ammount of oil was seeping through;around them. I went to a local hardware store and purchaced a couple of small corks. I lightly pushed them into the ends of the shaft and with an ink pen made a circular mark about 1/8'' outward from the end of the shaft so that there would be a definate press fit later. I then removed the corks and cut them on the line I had made. I coated the corks (even the foreward facing face so as to eliminate possibility of seepage through porsity in the new cork) with orange silicone sealant then pressed them in just far enough to insert a new cotter pin. Worked great, by the way the original part was discontinued from the dealer. ---Jim
