I found a mf-9 baler last night in decent condition. Does anyone know anything about this model, $, parts availability, reliability? Year?
Thanks

I bought a MF 9 baler about five years ago and paid $850 for it. It has been mostly trouble free except for giving me fits tying. What few parts I've needed I've been able to get from either Tractor Supply (pickup teeth) or from the dealer itself (pickup teeth holders). The problem with tying the twine is the twine itself. My 9 is very picky about the twine I use. If I use a cheap twine with varying thickness, I might as well get off and hand tie each bale. BUT!!! if I use a good quality twine such as New Holland or some I found from House Hasson Hardware, I don't ever have any problems. The only other problem I have had was the overrunning clutch next to the flywheel. It came apart on me a year ago and the dealer is the only place I could find one and it was $125.00. Like the other fellow told you, if you don't get in a hurry with it, they're a good baler.

Good luck.

I bought a MF # 9 new in 1966, paid $ 1000.00, It is a very good baler, very reliable. You can not push it hard though like you could a # 10. Unfortunately I have been away from the farm for 20 years now, so I am unable to advise where to get parts!
