Tried this once B4 and you fellas told me to go get some numbers. So I went looking for numbers and got bunches, apparently they were big on putting parts numbers on everything.

I mainly need some type of Model ID so I can get an IT manual and start to figure out how/if I can make it run. It's getting to be a serious need - Why, oh Why, can't women realize what a great deal you can get when you bring home pieces and boxes of pieces???

Anywho here's what I've got.

It is a Massey with 4 cyl. engine with the plugs up on top. Has Pressure and amp gauge.

4 forward gears and reverse. Autolite starter #
(M2 4072 50). Marvel/Schebler Carb.

Narrow front 4.00x15 tires. 11.2x28 rears(marked 10x28 at rim)

Number on top of trans plate 6333A and there is a 24 that doesn't appear to be part of first #.

Number on lower left trans housing 9150-A there is also a 23 and an H on there.

Screwed onto axle housing is a plate with #F16-8

Number on side of engine F400A418M and a 6-2?(looks like an 8).

On the head is the Number F140A 30 and a plate with #B 182 is also screwed on head.

I also have some digital pictures if anybody can explain to me how to get them in here.

Thanks much in advance and remember = Ignorance is bliss and I'm grinnin' all the time!

Nothing like a little project to work on instead of painting the fence. Anyways, the other models posted were all possibilities. The engine is a Continental flathead 4 cylinder and they came in 3 basic sizes (identical except for cylinder bore). The sizes were 124, 140, and 162 cubic inches. Sounds like yours is probably the 140 cubic inch version. They were in a variety of ag and industrial (like Lincoln welders, etc.)applications. Your tractor might also be a 101 or 102 Junior (or might be some of the other models mentioned). If it has hinged sidecovers then it is a 101/102. The plate on top of the tranny has the serial number stamped into it on the left rear of the plate. It is probably filled with paint and you'll have to go searching for it by scraping off the paint or using a wire brush. The tin oval plate riveted on the tub casting is obviously missing. Once you find the serial number then post it here and somewone will confirm the model and the year.

Pigster,
It comes close to my MH 81 except I have 32" rear tires. It also comes close to being a model 20, 22 or 82. Look on the transaxle cover (Platform) and look near the little PTO lever for a stamped number. This would be the serial number. I am new to Massey Harris so I can only relate to what I have found on mine.
Good Luck,
Kent
