I'm a newbie here, so forgive me if I'm supplying too much information:

I replaced fuel filter on 1996 MF 240. The book says to crack the #1 output fitting to bleed air - the picture shows a line attached to that port. My filter assembly has 4 numbered ports - #1 is labelled with an arrow pointing out, but has no line attached (just a plug), the other 3 do have lines attached. #2, e.g., shows an arrow pointing IN. (Can't remember the directions shown for #3 and #4.) The parts desk guy where I got the filter said to disregard the maintenance manual, and that there was a bleed port on top of the filter body, and showed me where on a 240 on his lot, but my filter doesn't look like the one he showed me - mine has two lines attached vertically to the filter. (Hence, I have 3 horizontal fittings with lines attached, and two vertical.)

I tried cracking the #1 plug, and pumped til my fingers turned blue, but I never saw fuel, bubbles, or anything come out of that #1 port.

So, the question is, which port do I crack to start bleeding?

(BTW, I managed to get the dang thing started anyway, so this is a question for the next time...)
