First let me say thanks.. I had my MF35 stuck in first gear and after reading the board I realized it was and easy fix ( took about two minutes ) but after removing the transmission filler bolt I noticed the transmission oil only filled about 1/4 of the bottom of the transmission. Next question is how do you check the transmission oil level? My MF35 service manual just says fill with 8 gallons of 80 weight mineral oil after a complete drain. I don't want to drain the whole thing just top it off. Thanks in advanced

There should be a dipstick on the right side cover plate (on the opposite side from the one with the pto lever)the trans & hyd.system share the same fluid. Be sure you don't use detergent type hyd. fluid it can cause jerky and erratic lift operation
