I dont have a job, but i do have a question I would like to ask you. I have a mf165 with mf 236 front end loader. The power steering pump is bad on my tractor and I am thinking of trying to run hydraulic lines from the output port of my front loader control valve to the power steering cylinder and run the power steering off of the same pump as my front end loader. Will this work.

JD does that in the 3010,3020,4010,4020 and later tractors. They protect power to the steering with a priority flow control valve so the power steering always has power even when other things are taking power hydraulic. I don't know how much flow the power steering requires. These JD tractors have 18 to 21 gpm engine driven pumps to supply power steering, power brakes, power differential lock, three point, and external cylinders.

: thanks. I talked to a hydraulics shop and they said that they could build a regulator and valve for about $180, but I think I will go ahead and buy the regular power steering pump as I can get one for about $300 and then it will be original. Thanks again. jm : : : :
