I bought a tractor that i think is a mod. 23. the serial # is covered by a fishplate used to repair a crack in the frame. It has a 4 cyl continental engine. 7 slots in the grill. it looks much like a 22 except the hood flows straight back to the opperating station instead of down like a 22. It also looks like someone made a hole in the hood for the exhaust with a chisile. maby the exhaust was routed down on the origional tractor. It has a hydraulic 3 point hitch control and the rear wheels can be fliped to make the tractor wider. any other way of identifing it?

The s/n is stamped into the top of the tranny to the left of center. it will read 23G1RF????. The first 2 no's are the model. If you have a 21, keep it quiet or someone out east will offer you enough or more. They only made 3832 of the 23's and 1669 of the 21's. Another difference between the 22's and 21/23's is a diamond plate step on the left side near where the tranny bolts on. And yes, the exhaust went down originally. Good luck, -Alan
