i got a response to both of my other messages regarding this crawler and i was told that they never made such a crawler!! this is very strange as i found the identification plate and it said: CRAWLER TRACTOR - MF 144C MASSEY FERGUSON ITALIAN OPERATION UNIT REGGIO EMILIA
ENGINE NUMBER: 1520A251270D
CHASSIS NUMBER: 3141315

Hi Gareth, I thought you may be interested, i have a crawler tractor Massey Fergusson Super 44
Italian Operation Unit,Chassis number 50289 44..
This unit is very old 50's i think, but according
to Massey Fergusson Dealer over here they dont exist,i have no idea where it came from originally but it is still in use,it's not pretty but it goes well and the 3point linkage
on the back is very handy..regards ron

hello there, I live in spain and my girlfriend has found a M.F. 147c crawler that needs a water pump. she wants to buy it... I am on an oil rig in the north sea. it would be great to get some information on this machine before we buy it. I'd greatly appreciate some pointers and some idea of the reliability and ... well any thing really. it has a pto and some implements, we have an olive farm on the side of a mountain near Granada... thanks in anticipation al white

hi,
thanks for replying, it is very likely that the 147 is a larger model than the 144, do you have a scanner? if so could you scan a few pictures in and send them to me, i also need the manual if possible, but if not never fear, there is always another way!!
thanks

Gareth,
I think they were an Italian MF series made by Landini in the 1970's. They had Perkins 3 cyl engines. Hanomag made some MF crawlers also. There is someone with a later followup who is selling MF crawler manuals from an old dealership.
Hope this helps, Manuel

It would have been made for Massey Ferguson by Landini of Italy in which Massey was the major share holder at one time.
Hope this Helps,
