After searching for nearly a year, last Saturday I purchased my dream tractor., it's a British 135 3 cyl perkins diesel. The serial # on the plate located on the dash reads 149516. Can anyone tell me the year, the dealer thinks it is a year 1977.

Stumbled onto this discussion and am having fun finding out about my own little "grey fergie".
She's a little sweetie with a big heart and thanks to this kind of discussion, I can roll up my sleeves and keep her chugging for a long time to come. Mine is a UK(British)too, with hydraulic steering, judging from the info provided a 1970.
Any history, repair experiences, good book titles would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and best wishes.

I guess I should have read some instructions before trying to add a link on my previous message. It didn't work and now I can't seem to bring up the previous message that I received. I have a printed copy that shows serial # and years from 1965 to 1979. These are for UK machines only. I don't know if these are for both diesel and gas or diesel only. Here is the list --- - year - first serial no. for that year - 1965 - 101 - 1966 - 30283 - 1967 - 67597 - 1968 - 93305 - 1969 - 117429 - 1970 - 141426 - 1971 - 162200 - 1971 - 400001 revised version - 1972 - 403518 - 1973 - 419583=== ?? - 1974 - 432709 - 1975 - 445602 - 1976 - 457866 - 1977 - 469335 - 1978 - 479192 - 1979 - 487350 and the last 490714

Hope this helps - Bob ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -- I can not verify al these numbers , but our tractor s.n. is 135 - 424243 and it is a 1973 according to our local Massey dealer in B.C.He did a lot of cross referencing so there is still a chance for errors. I believe the 9A serial numbers on the link at left refer to U.S. tractors.You might be able to contact that BOB and see where he got the numbers from? ray-s

Don't matter about all those numbers; what really matters is that you are going to have fun and enjoy the "Little Gray Ferggie". happy puttering

According to the serial no. reference on this web site it is a 1972. It is no newer than a 75 because that is the last year that the 135 series was produced.
