MF135 Serial Number

I was at the dealer last weekend looking at 2
MF135's neither of which had a serial number under
the dash. There are numbers on the case under the
seat on the left hand side of the tractor. For
both of these the numbers are 894682M1. It this
number telling me anything of interest about the
tractor?

Was the 135 a gas? If so, was it 4 cyl or 3 cyl ? The 4 cyl is the Continental engine, the 3 cyl is the Perkins gas engine. The Perkins, as I understand it was used in the later years of the 135. The hood, was it metal or plastic ? The later years used plastic, from what I understand. Hope some of this helps . ..Jim

Don, The numbers you are looking at are casting or part numbers and cant really help with estimating the year of build of a tractor.
