I am new to this 'old tractor' bit, but my TEO20 has leaking rear seals, any advive would be appreciated. Also the gas tank has a very slow weep.

Hi again,

Forgot about your gas tank.

If you decide to weld it, make sure you fill the tank with water, then put the leaking spot on the top, and weld. Best way to weld it is with acetylene / oxygen... either steel or brass.... silver works fine too.

Be sure you fill it with water so your hair won't stay up on your head, and the face gets black.....

Hi there,

Depends on what year you have. The oldest half shafts had only outer seals, the newer half shafts had both inner and outer seals.

Difference between older and newer half shafts is 16 splines and 18 splines.

There is a seal kit for older half shaft seals. I am not sure how it works, got it in my house couple of days ago. Got it from a company in England. Was pretty cheap, compared to the regular fix where you need to remove the bearings too.

On the newer type you just replace the inner seals, replace grease in the bearing and hope it works. It usually does. Unless outer seal is almost gone.
