I have a MH22 which was missing the linkages between the throttle, the governor and the carburator (just the springs and the connecting rod). I don't know if this is because the governor is broken, or just because the linkage broke and they didn't know how to hook it back up. At this point I am looking for the linkages and springs, but I may be in the market for a governor if it is inoperable.

My question (other than the obvious - does anyone know where I can get the linkages) is whether other Massey models are likely to use the same springs and linkages since I can't yet find them for a 22. I would suspect that any other model which uses that Continental engine block, the Novi governor and the same Marvel Schebler carb may, but I am not sure which models I should be looking for.

Thanks for your help

Patrick, Does it have the gov on the front of the lobe or on the back. My experience is that it should be on the front... which is a little tougher to find. The models built before approx 48 had the gov almost always on the rear of the lobe, after that time it depended on the hydraulics. DO NOT attempt to force the rear mount gov on the front as the gear is to thick and can break the hydraulic pump or worse. Now as for the linkage... Does the throttle rod parallel to the steering column run clear to just below the gov or does it stop under the gas tank? If it's below the gas tank, it requires a rocker arm that mounts to the bell housing. Feel free to e-mail me or call at (814) 425-2930. We don't always check the e-mail daily. GOOD LUCK
