Has anyone had any luck cleaning oil-soaked brake disks? I have a MF 135 and torn it apart after farm work yesterday to find the drain hole plugged and the disk brakes oil soaked, thus no brakes. I will replace the seal, but has anyone had any luck using brake cleaner, carb cleaner, or burning off the oil soaked disks? 25.00 each seems mighty high for replacement disks, but if the other stuff, cleaner, doesn't work it is a lot of work to change them on these MF's. Thanks in advance for any help.

I was told to use ether to wash out the fluid then put talcum powder on the shoes and reinstall them the powder will soak up any oil you miss with the ether I found brake cleaner worked pretty good then wipe the oil off. Also consider heating them with a torch this will make the oil come to the surface of the pad and you can just keep wiping it off. I would only do this if the shoes were otherwise in real good shape

Try using a coarse grit sandpaper, just to get through the oil.
