Hi

Yesterday I visited a farm in rural Nova Scotia. They had four tractors. A Farmall Super A, 2 MF 135's and something else. I was hoping that you would be able to help me identify this mystery
tractor. I was unable to get a photo but I will describe it. It is either a Massey Ferguson, Massey Harris Ferguson, or a Ferguson. The current owner bought it used. He said it was a 1956/57. They referred to it as a "Work Bull". I think it may have parts from many tractors in it. When it came to this farm it had a backhoe on it and now it has a front end loader. The hood is similar to that of a TO-35. It is angular unlike the MF-35. It had power steering. The dash looked like it was off a MF-35. The makers plate on the dash gave the model as a MHF-202 and the serial number JGF 30039I. The rear axle halves had these two numbers on them 183 251 M1 and 183 249 M1. On the left hand side there were the folling numbers. CWC B197 and Z134A500P. On the transmission there were two numbers one before and one after the joint, 182 840 M2 and 181 402 M1. That's it for the numbers. Other things: had no three point but blanking plate and on the hood there was a Ferguson System Decal. Also on the hood there was a multi-power decal but no switch on the dash. It had a high/low range transmission with 6 forward and 2 reverse. It ran on gas. I think thats it.

Thank-you

Sounds like a massey work bull, had one for years.
A 202 was an industrial version with a heavier
front axle, mostly painted yellow, some had backhoes. Quiet a few of these were made.

That tractor is a 1957 202 workbull fashioned after the M-H-F 35.There were also workbulls fashioned after M-H Tractors, the 333/444/555. The Massey Harris tractors became the 303 Workbull and the 404 Workbull. This line was produced from 1956 to 1958. These tractors were offered with loaders and backhoes. The first 202 Workbulls were offered with a TO 35 bonnet but later restyled in the MF era. Hope this helps.

Hi,

Just wondering what other data is out there? Production numbers, rarity, price, parts availability, and that sort of thing.

Thanks

Yes... I'll have to find it... It's the only one I've ever seen and it was in an old Massey advertisement someone had. I'll ask around and see if I can find it. I think all the Work Bulls were industrial yellow w/ black print.
