Have a '72 MF175 Perkins/Diesel. Will not charge. I had Alternator rebuilt, new voltage regulator, battery tested ok, cleaned post & connections on both Alt & Reg. Still won't charge?? In addition to that now my fuel gauge doesn't work, which it did before I changed these parts. I don't see any wires loose or that came off??

Thanks in advance for any feedback
Jim

Hi, Diesel tractors use an oil pressure SW to do what a key does on a car. On a 165 it is under the dash on the back of the oil pump guage. Allso you can follow the wire on the voltage regulator back to it. If this doesn't close most of the guages don't work. Bill

Bill,
Thanks for the reply, yes I see that, and I followed the wire to the oil pump gauge. Do you think it might be sticking or just went bad, because it worked before I had the alternator rebuilt and replace regulator. All other gauges are working except Fuel and generator. What do you suggest I do next ??
Thank You
Jim
