Looking on bidding for a 1085 with cab and loader in an upcoming auction. Wondering if there is anything I should know about these tractors before I bid. What should it be worth? What is the HP rating, any week points, what do I look for when inspecting this tractor? Any help would be apreciated. Thanks Wayne

bulky in size for its horsepower (81.5PTO) check the TA shift lever on the dashboard for proper operation. check powersteering components. it has a great cab, room for my whole family. i find that hydraulic parts are hard to find (thanks agco) the loader is going to push the cost of the tractor up about $2500. i think only two brands of loader fit it (MF and bushhog). good if its the loader that has a subframe that bolts to the tractor. hard to make brake and clutch adjustments because of battery box and tank locations on both sides of tractor. i really like mine. paid 5750 it. was in what i would call good to very good shape. i'm in tobacco country and farmers are being forced out. so it may bring more in your area.

It is hard to tell how good that multipower works until you run it and get it hot. If it has no multipower which I believe it will have , then it't be ok. Not knowing how it performs is a gamble with the $$$. My dad bought ours not knowing alot about them and sure enough the multipower was gone. It had no loader I think he paid 3500 for it. I did the work at college to the multipower I would hate to have to pay shop rate, specially if it has a cab cause it has to come off.
